The new CIOB Contract for use with Complex Projects will readily enable use of BIM in construction contracts. In its "Key Points" (click to open), it is stated that; It permits a variety of contract documents including a building information model and requires electronic communications either via a file transfer protocol or a common data environment for collaborative working.
This is a clear indication that enabling BIM is in high agenda. However, the contract is yet to arrive at the market. It is still under review. It is likely to be available in the beginning of August.
